Eh, mon. How refreshing it is to find a good sportsbook, mon, in this whole heap of nobodies.
Everything is all irie at this sportsbook, which is owned and run by TheGreek. With that, comes as good a reputation as Jamaican mary jane.
Don’t sweat the payouts in this place, mon, and don’t worry about your money. It’s secure and these people are far from gravalacious. While TheGreek caters to the big boys, BetJamaica is around to accommodate the smaller fishes as well.
All thumbs up for BetJamaica, mon, as they are one of the best books on the net.
1. Who Bets Here
While its parent company, TheGreek, is known for being one of the sharpest books around, BetJamaica loosens the belt a little bit and is more welcoming to small players. A good indication of that are their wagering minimums, which is just $2 online.
They’ll also cover the fees on lower deposit amounts in comparison to TheGreek. For example, at TheGreek, Western Union fees are covered over $300. At BetJamaica, fees are covered on deposits of $200 or more.
Even so, there are a lot of similarities between TheGreek and BetJamaica, so there is a good base of public and sharps in this book.
- Western Union (fees covered for deposits over $200)
- Netspend Gift Cards
- Cashier’s Cheque
- Bank Wire
- Western Union (minimum fee of $23.50)
- Courier Cheque (one free per calendar month)
- Bank Wire ($35 plus 1% of withdrawal)
- ATM Card
2. Customer Service
BetJamaica has very good customer service. You might get the odd operator who had a heavy accent, but it’s nothing to be overly concerned about. Their customer service reps have a good understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish and that’s all that matters.
When there are problems, they get dealt with, which is good to know that your issues – no matter how minor – don’t get swept under the rug.
Their operators can be reached at any time of day, week or year, and they even have a live chat function, which TheGreek doesn’t offer.
Methods of Contact
- Live chat
3. Placing A Bet
Placing a bet at BetJamaica is fairly easy. For old school bettors, they’ll recognize the popular check box system where you pick your sport and then the lines display.
It’s pretty much as simple as that. When you login, you are presented with a menu offering different bet types and after you select, you check the sport(s) you want to include, enter the amount and then go to separate page to confirm.
It’s not as up to date as the newest betting software, where your betting ticket appears and on the right-hand side and you never have to switch pages, but this is a tried, tested and true system that works.
Methods of Betting
One thing that BetJamaica can’t match with TheGreek is the betting variety. Don’t get us wrong, BetJamaica still has a good amount of props for appetizers while serving you a very good main course, but it’s not the cornucopia of props that TheGreek will present you with.
Aside from that, you’ll find pretty much everything that you’re looking for at BetJamaica. One notable omission is live betting, which is lacking.
- NFL Games: $5,000
- NBA Games: $3,000
- NHL Games: $3,200
- MLB Games: $1,000
5. VIP Program/Loyalty Program
One of the main differences between TheGreek and BetJamaica is the latter’s fantastic loyalty program.
All customers of BetJamaica are immediately placed into the Paradise Loyalty Club where you receive one free bet for every 100 bets you place. The free bet is calculated based on your average bets and it maxes out at $200. It’s a nice little freeplay but this is a solid, hassle-free loyalty program that everyone will find useful.
Some companies will offer you loyalty points or bet points, which you can use to redeem certain services or gifts, but sometimes you get useless trinkets in return for your loyalty. Here, you get a free bet and that’s pretty much ideal. You also don’t have to jump through hula hoops to get it.
6. Bonus & Rebate Program
BetJamaica has a fairly good bonus program, which has a few tiers.
If you just want to try the book out, they’ll match a $100 deposit with a $100 free play. We’d prefer cash, but for a 100% bonus, a free play is fine.
The next stage is people who are a little more certain with their deposits. Instead of the freeplay special, you receive 20% on your initial deposit and 10% on reload bonuses. The rollover attached is a reasonable four times.
Another option is to enter the cash-back rebate program instead of taking the initial 20%. In that case, you get 16% back on all of your losses, which you get three separate times of the year (after the Super Bowl, NBA Finals and World Series).
Lastly, there is a parlay refund special, where if you whiff on all of your picks in a five to nine team parlay, you get all of your money back. In a 10 to 15 parlay, if all of your picks miss, you get a 10-to-1 payout. On one hand, it’s unlikely that you’ll go 0-for but in the case that you do, at least they have you covered.
As you can see, in comparison to TheGreek, there is far more account options at BetJamaica.
7. Website & Usability
If TheGreek is prehistoric, then BetJamaica is in the ice age.
It’s not fantastic, flashy or frenetic by any means, but it definitely is a different ‘f’: functional.
You won’t get wowed with any graphics but you won’t have to worry about pages loading. It’s always quick moving from page to page, and load times are never an issue.
It’s not exactly a betting resource – there aren’t articles to help you out or a stats section. They don’t have a blog, a podcast section or a page with anonymous swimsuit models.
What it is is a good, fast site for betting and quite clearly, that’s all they care about. If you need all of the other extraneous resources, you can still visit the articles sections of other sportsbooks but for betting, you won’t need to go elsewhere.
Considering it’s a relative of TheGreek, its reputation speaks for itself. Those are two of the most respected, reputable sportsbooks in the industry.
